Play a key role in driving corporate governance at Danske Bank

Danske Bank’s Company Secretariat (“CoSec”) is a key advisory and support function for the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors, bridging the daily operations of the bank with the supervisory role of the Board of Directors. Driven and skilled Senior Legal Counsel

As Senior Legal Counsel you will play a pivotal role in advising and supporting Danske Bank’s Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors in governance matters and decision-making processes. You will be responsible for a range of critical processes and advisory tasks directly linked to the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors, and you will ensure the quality, relevance and consistency of decision proposals, presentations and reporting as well as the execution and follow-up on meetings.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting and advising Danske Bank’s Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors in respect to various decision processes, corporate governance and related issues.
• Supporting and advising Danske Bank’s Board committees, which are instrumental in preparing the Board of Directors for business-critical decisions.
• Building and maintaining efficient processes and strong relationships with leadership teams across the organisation to enhance the quality and impact of decision-making processes.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with colleagues from other corporate teams, including Group Legal, Group Strategic Steering, Group Positioning & Sustainability, Group Finance, Group Compliance, Group Risk Management, Group Internal Audit, and various policy teams.

You will report to the Deputy Head of Company Secretariat and work alongside eight experienced colleagues with predominantly legal backgrounds.

Experienced legal professional with strong stakeholder management skills

To effectively perform in this role, you must combine strong legal expertise with proficient commercial and stakeholder management skills. We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and attributes:

• Educational background as lawyer (cand.jur. or cand.merc.jur.) with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Solid foundation within relevant legal areas including financial regulation, corporate and commercial law.
• Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders and projects effectively, with fluent verbal and written communication skills in both Danish and English.
• Overall methodical approach to tasks by having a genuine interest in structure and timely execution.
• High-performing, proactive and solution-oriented mindset with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• A collaborative, service-minded attitude and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic environment and with the highest degree of integrity.
