Summary:

This role will have responsibility for providing Legal support to different stakeholders within Global Medical, Global Commercialization Excellence and Business Insights and Technology. The person in the role will be required to establish professional credibility and relationships with executive level commercialization colleagues and work effectively across a wide array of issues and stakeholders independently and in collaboration with Law Department colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Anticipate and proactively identify legal issues and provide clear, operational and effective legal advice that supports informed decisions and applies an enterprise view
  • Collaborate across the Law Department matrix to ensure delivery of seamless, comprehensive legal advice.
  • Deliver effective presentations to Law Department and Business Units.
  • Lead and organize functional or substantive working groups assessing significant legal issues.
  • Leverage knowledge of emerging legal and industry issues and trends to inform advice and address potential legal risk.
  • Lead simplification of policies, procedures and guidance affecting business activities.

Required Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Education: A law degree from a US Law School.
  • Knowledge: Broad knowledge of healthcare law, including advertising and promotion, anti-kickback and bribery laws, regulatory policy, and contracts. 
  • Experience: At least five to eight years of legal, regulatory and/or compliance experience, preferably with a law firm that advises companies in highly regulated industries or in-house at a pharmaceutical or biotech or medical device company. Successful experience in cross-functional interactions is required.
  • Skills: Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong relationships across the business and within the Law Department. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects under deadline pressure. Flexibility to work on a broad range of matters. Ability to communicate complex issues clearly, verbally and in writing.
