We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a proactive, can-do attitude and a passion for cross-border legal matters. The ideal candidate must be well-organized, able to prioritize effectively, and demonstrate strong attention to detail. Position will be located in Warsaw, Poland (Hybrid). The primary responsibility will be to provide legal support to business stakeholders on a variety of legal issues, under the guidance of Regional Business Counsel, EMEA. A commitment to delivering high-quality results and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Assist in reviewing, drafting, and managing commercial contracts relevant to the company’s business and other related documents (e.g., sales and procurement agreements, toll-manufacturing agreements, distribution and agency contracts, NDAs, public tenders’ documentation).
- Provide on-going general legal support to business on a variety of legal matters and critical projects, such as on post-closing M&As integrations, data privacy (including DPAs, DPIAs, security incidents, ad-hoc privacy questions for various projects), HR matters (employment law, including support with separations and disciplinary actions), management of claims and litigations, sustainability (in particular support with legal parts of questionnaires and assessments), corporate governance (e.g., drafting POAs, support KYC/UBO questionnaire), real estate (support with leases – claims, termination, renewals etc.), debtors’ and creditors’ rights (e.g., receivables legal collection and bankruptcy matters) and other (e.g., customers’ letters, declarations, and codes of conducts review).
- Provide support related to compliance matters, including internal investigations and implementation of remedial actions. Provide proactive compliance trainings for internal stakeholders relating to applicable anti-bribery and corruption laws.
- Conduct legal research and analysis, prepare presentations and consolidated reports and summaries (including case summaries) for the Regional Business Counsel. Taking part in active monitoring on legal news and new regulations, support in providing related updates to the business.
Requirements
- Fluent in English; any other language would be a plus.
- Master’s degree in law. Commenced bar training or bar admission.
- Three or more years of law firm and/or in-house practice providing counsel to regional or global business.
- Overall broad knowledge and experience in relation to commercial and corporate law, litigations, labor law, data protection laws (including GDPR), internal investigations.
- International, cross-jurisdictional experience and exposure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Adept at driving new ideas and changing direction quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly developed critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
